Why this exists
Most people hitting retirement have the same worries: Will my super last? What happens to my pension as it goes down? Am I short each year once I add everything up?
Government info is accurate but scattered. A good financial adviser is worth their weight — but plenty of people just want a rough picture before they book an appointment. That’s what we built this for.
Secure Retire Circle is free, Australia-only, and focused on how super drawdown and the Age Pension usually interact — not on selling you a product.
What’s on the site
Two main things, both free:
- The calculator — plug in your age, super, spending, and a few other basics. You’ll see how long your super might last, a rough pension figure, and any gap. It all runs in your browser; we don’t store what you type.
- The guide — a readable summary you can get by email: what your results mean, the assets test, drawdown rules, and sensible next steps.
Wherever we talk about pension eligibility, we link to the real Services Australia assets test so you can check the source yourself.
Who it’s for
Australians in their late fifties and up — whether you’re already retired or still working towards it. Single, couple, homeowner or not, full pension or none. It’s for getting your bearings, not for complex tax or estate planning.
What we do
- Explain super and pension in plain English
- Give honest, approximate numbers
- Keep calculator data on your device
- Point you to official sources when it matters
What we don’t do
- Personal financial advice
- Recommend funds or products
- Replace what Services Australia tells you
- Promise returns or pension amounts
How the calculator works (briefly)
We combine your super with an estimated Age Pension under the assets test, factor in minimum drawdowns by age, and let you pick an investment return (conservative, balanced, or growth). It’s a scenario — not a prediction of the future.
Rules and rates change. We use published figures and round where it keeps things simple. Your real pension depends on everything you own, income tests, deeming, and your own circumstances.
Privacy
Calculator inputs stay on your phone or computer. If you request the guide, we only get what you put in the form — name, email, and the options you pick. Details in our Privacy Policy.
Give it a go
Run your numbers through the calculator first. If you want something to read later, request the guide. A few minutes either way.
